Synopsis: Sarah, a 15-year-old girl with a hearing impairment, is entering a crisis in her life. Her divorced mother is trying desperately to reconcile Sarah's needs as a handicapped adolescent, and her needs for an adult relationship.

An angry interchange results in Sarah being sent to her grandfathers for the summer holidays, at a seaside resort. Here she meets a group of local teenagers, including one boy, David. A growing friendship between Sarah and David triggers off more conflicts.

This time Sarah faces the problems and learns to take her place with her peers.
